Directions:

REPASHY'S TWO-PART NECTAR SYSTEM FOR ALL FRUGIVOROUS GECKOS

Repashy's Two-Part Nectar System , when mixed according to the directions below, creates EITHER a complete balanced diet OR a supplemental part of a balanced diet, depending on the method chosen.  It is great for all fruit loving gecko species such as Rhacodactylus and Phelsuma. 

BASE Meal Replacement Powder (MRP)

Directions: This product is NOT designed to be fed as is.  This is part A of a two part system, of which there are several options for the B part.  Please mix according to your preferred method of the following options.

When used as an exclusive diet (no insects):
Mix 60% MRP Base with 40% MRP Nectar BY WEIGHT (not Volume).  Add water to desired viscosity.  Mixing at these ratios replicates the nutritional analysis of the original Gecko MRP formula (see above.)

When used as part of a balanced diet (combined with regular insect feeding):
If your geckos have a sweet tooth and you feed insects regularly, you may want to try this sweeter version.  Mix 50% MRP Base with 50% MRP Nectar BY WEIGHT (not Volume).  Add water to desired viscosity.  You can just mix two new equal size Base/Nectar containers together dry and save for future use.  Insects should be offered several times a week and they should be gutloaded with the Repashy Superfoods "Insect Gutload" and dusted with Repashy Superfoods "Calcium Plus."

Other Uses:
The MRP Base may also be used in conjunction with fresh fruit, baby food, and fresh honey to create a complete diet or supplemental diet.  However, there is no way to be precise using this method because different fruits have different levels of moisture, sugar, minerals and vitamins.  Using a good average estimate for moisture and sugar content, a good place to start would be the following two recipes:  For a complete diet mix 33% MRP Base with 66% fresh pureed fruit / fruit baby food / fresh honey BY WEIGHT (not Volume).  For a supplemental diet mix 25% MRP Base with 75% fresh pureed fruit / fruit baby food / fresh honey BY WEIGHT (not Volume).  These are only guidelines, and if using this method, careful monitoring must be used, and results may vary.  Use this method at your own risk.

Calcium Plus ICB is a unique blend of calcium, protein, fat, fiber, and vitamins. It is designed to be used as the exclusive supplementation for insectivorous species. It is formulated to "balance" the nutritional value of feeder insects, and in most cases, to be used with every feeding. It provides all essential nutrients in a one simple to use product. No need for separate vitamin and calcium products. It contains a proven level of Vitamin D-3, and a proven ratio of Vitamin D-3 to Calcium. It also contains preformed Vitamin A at a 10:1 ratio of Vitamin A/ Vitamin D-3 which is essential to proper nutrition.  Calcium plus also contains Beta Carotene in addition to preformed Vitamin A and is the only Reptile supplement available that contains both.

It has been proven that preformed Vitamin A is required via supplementation for Reptiles in captivity. Beta Carotene can be converted by some species into Vitamin A, but it is in doubt that insectivores can accomplish this assimilation. There are many documented cases of Vitamin A deficiency that have been caused by supplements that only use Beta Carotene as a source of Vitamin A. Providing both sources at moderate levels is unique to the Superfoods line.

In the mid 90's, there was an uneducated report by a private breeder that claimed Vitamin A toxicity in Chameleons from supplementation that put a scare into reptile keepers. Vitamin supplements soon came out using only Beta Carotene as a reaction to the hype. More than ten years later, we now know that these reports were false, and that vitamin A deficiency from these  Beta Carotene only supplements is far more common than any toxicity from products with vitamin A. In fact, the confirmed cases of Vitamin A toxicity in reptiles is practically nil. Vitamin D-3 toxicity is, on the other hand, a very real concern, and some supplements on the market contain VERY high levels of this vitamin.

The ratio of Vitamin A/D-3 is also very important and essential to proper nutrition. Supplementing a Vitamin powder separately from a Calcium/D-3 product allows for great error in the A/D-3 ratio because it is nearly impossible to get the a balance this way.

Calcium Plus ICB solves this ratio problem by including the correct ratio in one product, which eliminates the guesswork. We use only the highest and most stabilized forms of vitamins, which allows them to be used in a high mineral product without the degradation concerns that we had 20 years ago (which many people still think is a problem).

Certain species require, or are more sensitive to vitamin D supplementation than others. With a balanced ratio of calcium/phosphorous (calculated based on a dusted cricket) and vitamins which are balanced to these mineral levels, the guesswork is eliminated, and the question becomes how much to use. Most species will be just fine receiving insects dusted with Calcium Plus at every feeding, but this can be reduced to once, or a few time a week for sensitive species. The level of Vitamin D-3 used in the Calcium Plus is near ten times less than that of some popular products.

Having the proper ratio is the key. Too much calcium blocks and binds gut absorption, too much D-3 can lead to calcification of internal organs. With the balanced formula of the Calcium Plus, the only variable left is how often to use it.

It contains Three natural pigment enhancing ingredients. First is Haemotococcus Algae (Naturose), which is a source of natural Astaxanthan (Pink, Red and Orange Pigments). This is the carotenoid pigment that makes salmon flesh orange, and flamingos pink. In captivity, Flamingos would be white, and so would salmon flesh.. without supplementation such as the source we use here. We use marigold extract for natural Yellow Pigments.. this carotenod is used in poultry egg production to make nice yellow egg yolks. We also use the finest Spirulina Algae, which contains full spectrum carotenoid pigments.... This unique blend of pigment enhancing ingredients is sure to bring out the brightest colors in your herps... The orange in that Carrot Tail, and the Red in your Bearded Dragon. Micro Fine Calcium Supplement with Varying levels of Vitamin D

Information:
Our Calcium Carbonate is mined from the Mohave Desert in California, where it was deposited 300 million years ago during the Mississippian Age as a large graveyard of marine animals.  It was formed in very favourable conditions in a shallow marine environment.  These remains were cemented together with calcium carbonate precipitated out of the primordial sea.  The deposit was then further purified and metamorphosed by various natural geological processes including high pressure and temperature.  This deposit is an extremely pure source of natural calcium carbonate , which makes it a truly unique source for food, supplement and pharmaceutical applications.  It is FDA Food Grade Certified.  Our calcium is micro ground to an average size of 3.5 microns, and is the finest available grind on the market, which provides the ultimate "stick" when dusted onto insects.

Directions:
Dust insects using the "shake and bake" method before being fed.  For supplementing fresh fruit and vegetables, use 1 heaping teaspoon per pound.  It is recommended that SuperMin vitamin supplement be used at a 50/50 ratio to this product to provide a balance of essential vitamins. This product contains high levels of Vitamin D3 and should be the product of choice for specimens with high Vitamin D requirements that are kept with little or no UVB radiation from natural sunlight or specialty bulbs.  This product can also be used for treating early symptoms of Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) in all species.  For species with normal D3 requirements we recommend SuperCal MeD and for sensitive species we recommend SuperCal LoD.

**NEW** RESCUECAL + LIQUID CALCIUM SUPPLEMENT

RescueCal + is a highly bio available and concentrated liquid calcium (when dissolved in water) supplement fortified with magnesium. It is designed to be used for the treatment of animals with low blood calcium levels as the result of Calcium and/or vitamin D deficiency. This is the only liquid calcium supplement available with balanced levels of magnesium to aid absorption and utilization. It can also be used at lower concentrations as a supplement to boost calcium amd magnesium levels of feeds and liquids.

This product was formulated as a direct replacement for such products as Neo-Calglucon, Calciquid, and Calcionate Syrup. These products are formulated for human consumption and are produced in a thick syrup that is very high in sugars. They also contain artificial flavors and high levels of preservatives (necessary to preserve a high sugar liquid).

For therapeutic use in concentrated form, we don’t need to worry about palatability of the solution because we are syringe or drop feeding, and likewise, we don’t need additional artificial flavoring. By using a dry formula that is mixed as needed, we can also significantly reduce the levels of preservatives necessary.

Used as directed, the calcium levels are equivalent to Neo-Calglucon and other Calcium Syrups on the market. The minerals in RescueCal + are provided in a chelated form, making them the most bio active forms available. When used to treat calcium deficiency, use as directed by a Veterinarian. For supplemental use, it can be added to powdered or granular animal or insect feeds to boost calcium levels. Because it is water soluble, it can be added to drinking water as well as insect gels and polymers (dissolved first into water).

A highly bio available and highly concentrated Liquid Calcium supplement (once dissolved in water) with added Magnesium and Electrolytes used to treat animals with low blood calcium levels as the result of Calcium and/or Vitamin D deficiency. Directions:
This product is designed to be mixed into a 30% solution. (3 grams/10ml, 30 grams/100ml, 150 grams/1/2 Liter, 300 Grams/Liter). You can mix only what you need but amounts less than 100 ml will require very accurate measurement. YOU WILL NEED A SCALE TO USE THIS PRODUCT ACCURATELY.

Add half total desired volume of water to container, then add weighed amount of RescueCal + to water while stirring, and then top off water to desired volume. Alternatively, you can mix by weight for both water and volume (1 gram of water is approximately equivalent to 1 ml of water at room temperature) Example using this method: Add 30 grams of RescueCal + to 70 grams water (while stirring).

It can take up to 30 minutes for the minerals to fully dissolve in water. Starting with HOT water will decrease this time but is not necessary. You can create a double strength solution by using boiling water if desired. For Clinical use, use deionized water.

SuperMin is the same Vitamin formula that has been the backbone of the SuperFoods line of complete diets and supplements.  SuperMin uses the most stable, and smallest forms of each Vitamin available. Introducing the SIM Incubation Container by Squamata Concepts!!!

The S.I.M. stands for Suspension Incubation Method relating to how the eggs are incubated on a grid off the substrate. This prohibits direct contact with a wet substrate and allows approximately 100% gas exchange between the container environment and the egg membrane.  Eggs incubated buried in dampened substrate are subjected to excess water which often results in drowned egg(s). Also in contrast to this, too little water or humidity results in egg desiccation.

Eggs incubated in the S.I.M. are surrounded top, bottom and sides by air. The steady humidity and (possibly) better Oxygen absorption in these containers allows neonates to develop faster resulting in shortened incubation times. Clutches incubated in this container have all hatched earlier than when buried in Perlite at same temperature. All neonates hatched fully developed without egg yolks.

The triangular bars that you see on top of the grid are the eggs stabilizer bars. The function of these bars is to keep eggs from rolling or being uprooted by clutch mates and they are fully adjustable to fit just about any egg size. The S.I.M. incubation containers are crystal clear.This so the eggs can be visually monitored without having to guess. The grid is designed to keep hatchlings from entering the substrate chamber.  For keepers who incubate over water, this feature ensures hatchlings are safe.

The lid is soft TPU that fits the container base without being difficult to remove and upset the contents.  We suggest venting the lid by adding a few small holes to avoid an air tight situation.
