IS EVERYONE READY FOR HALLOWEEN AND SOME NEW GECKOS?? Well the 2011 breeding season is now coming to an end. Our geckos have stopped laying eggs and we have begun the cooling process. We still have many geckos that are hatching though at this point and expect them to continue to hatch for several months to come. If you have been paying attention lately to the available sections you may have noticed that the numbers of geckos in the sections are dwindling..... Many geckos have been SOLD and the good news is we probably have around another 130 geckos to post VERY soon. The pictures have been taken and are being priced now. Not just Crested Geckos, but High-end Gargoyle Geckos, Leachianus, Sarasinorum and Chahoua. I have already sent out warnings of the 'impending posting' through my Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/northerngecko) and my Twitter account (http://twitter.com/northerngecko). These are great reasons to 'Like' or 'Follow me' if you want to get the jump on when new geckos will be posted. I am now posting here to make sure everyone that wants to chance to buy the best will know when they get posted. I will likely tell people through Facebook and Twitter when we are just about ready to post. This batch will represent our last shipment to the USA for before the Winter settles in, so if there is something you are looking for just in time for the beginning of the breeding season next year, the next couple weeks will be your last chance as we make our final trip before the freezing temperatures begin. We will NOT be shipping to December HAMM, but we would be more than happy to HOLD purchased geckos for you for delivery to the Spring HAMM show in 2012. GET READY FOR THE CRBE 2011 AND JUST POSTED MORE GARGS FOR SALE!!! OK. Well THAT was crazy. We have never posted that many Crested Geckos on the the site before in one shot and the response was amazing. I was really enjoying my summer before I made that post. :) Not so much anymore. ;) Thank you so much to everyone that took interest and found the gecko they were looking for. It kept us quite busy here for so long I really had no time to do much else. People in the USA can expect to get their geckos delivered in the coming week(s) (you have been notified) as well our Germany September HAMM 2011 buyers who we will be shipping out to the week after that. After that, get ready to see Northern Gecko again in Edmonton in October at the ERAS show! We will be there with more animals and Repashy Superfoods. GET READY!!! MORE GECKOS TO BE POSTED AFTER THE LONG WEEKEND. Some of you people who don't live in Canada probably are not aware that Friday is a holiday here. Well it is, hence the long weekend. But before the long weekend it is time for another huge picture shoot as things on the site start to dwindle. MORE GECKOS RELEASED, LOTS OF SHOWS AND NEW PRODUCTS! Greetings to everyone in Geckoland!
I hope this note finds everyone well into the breeding season with LOTS of eggs incubating. We have a few announcements of interest to make:
* Today we added a whole slew MORE Crested Geckos for sale, including a new Scratch & Dent Sale section , which will have some awesome geckos with minor tail nips and such at incredibly discounted prices. If a minor cosmetic flaw does not bother you there are some killer geckos here to be had in this section.
* The June 2011 HAMM show in Germany is now less than one month away (June 4th, 2011). If you have anything to order for HAMM delivery, our cut-off date for payment will be June 1, 2011. This cut-off allows us to get all final paperwork in order for transport to the show.
* On May 29th, 2011 we will be at the Reptile Breeder's Expo at its brand new location in Downtown Toronto! The show is on Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm as always. If you have any geckos or product you would like us to delivery to you at the show please write us and we would be pleased to bring it to the show for you. * As the Canadian Distributor for Repashy Superfoods, we are pleased to announce that several new products are coming down the pipes. Three of these products should be available through us in Canada within the month: SuperFly. A Fruit Fly Culture Media used to grow your fruit flies in a superior medium to promote healthy and strong reptiles and amphibians. HydroLoad. A water replacement for insects in Gel form, fortified with plenty of nutrients. This is a great compliment to SuperLoad to ensure your insect prey is hydrated as well as loaded with nutritional content before feeding to your animals. Bug Burger. RED CROSS - RED GECKO - RELIEF FOR JAPAN - FUNDRAISER  Hello Everyone, Having family that lives in Japan and because Japan is such a cool nation that needs the worlds support and help at this critical time. We have decided to create a fundraiser for the Red Cross Relief in Japan. For every Crested Gecko sold off our website we will donate 20% to the Red Cross. OVER 60 NEW ADULT CRESTED GECKOS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE SITE WITH 20% OFF! We have just added over 60 new Crested Geckos to the web site, just in time for the HAMM show in March (Sale ends March 12th, 2011). Most of them are of breeding age/size now and most are females. Check Mark's Premium Picks and the Female and Male sections for what is available. This is pretty much what is left from last season that we have grown out. We have more super high-end offspring that we are still holding on to so fear not, more younger offspring will be on the way. But if you are looking for anything that is ready to breed right now, this is it. There won't be anything else that we will have ready to breed for this season. All Crested Geckos are being offered at 20% off regualr price sio now is a great time to buy. We will be shiipping as soon as the weather gets nice. Beyond that we are starting to warm up our breeder room and begin this years breeding season. We are excited for this years production as we have some killer new breeders to add to the roster. New Leachianus Brosse and Isle E groups are ready to product this season. Some more Killer Gargoyle and Chahoua pairs should be producing for us this coming season. Mark Orfus June 30, 2010 - TIME FOR AN UPDATE Hey everyone, I figured it was time for an update as I have not really written here in almost two months. I wanted to thank all those who attended this past June 28th Reptile Expo in Mississauga and for making it a great success for us. We always love when you stop by to say hello and chat gecko! We are in the swing of breeding season with lots of hotties hatching every day. We are constantly updating all Availability sections on the site as soon as we feel something is up to size to be sold. So make sure you check in often if you don't want to miss that hard-to-find gecko. We are also going to be showcasing some new Up and Coming Breeders in the near future so you can see what we held back last year. I think you will like what you see. I certainly do! Are you a retail pet store looking to sell geckos or Reapshy Superfoods at your establishment? Contact us to discuss opportunities to purchase pet store grade Crested and Gargoyle geckos for resale. These geckos would not be high-end (the stuff I offer in my own on-line retail section) but some very nice geckos that will please your customers. Mark. May 3, 2010 - SOME SPECIAL ANIMALS ADDED! I have recently divided the Leachianus section into two (one for Offshore and another for Grande Terre locales). In order to get the GT section started, I have decided to offer up two animals I would never consider selling. These are older GT geckos that have had some time to grow (one is over two years old) and they are Pure Yate GTs. One is a Sub-Adult and another will be ready to breed this coming season, While the pricing on these animals are high, consider how often animals of this size and quality are offered for sale. I can tell you from experience I have never offered any to date, just juveniles. I will soon be posting the last couple of Chahoua and Gargs I will have for this season as well. Also, expect more Crested Geckos in the red category to go up in time for HAMM shipping for the June show. We are well underway with incubation this season with well over 1500 eggs incubating. If you have been keeping your eyes on the availables page recently you probably noticed we have sold out of almost all of our Crested Geckos. Many people have been asking when more will be on the way. Well we have been taking pictures for quite a few days now and finally we will be ready to showcase a bunch of sexable geckos. There are some REALLY nice geckos here. Remember also that Northern Gecko now ships geckos to the USA and to the upcoming March HAMM show in Germany! US orders are "to your door AM service" for $65, anywhere in the USA (weather conditions permitting) with an order minimum of $300 (Canadian funds). HAMM orders will be bulked together and sent out in one shipment and delivered to the show. Mark. December 7, 2009 - NOW SHIPPING TO THE USA and HAMM! It had to happen and it's finally here. Just in time for the new year, Northern Gecko is now able to ship geckos to the USA and to the HAMM shows in Germany! For the first show of its kind in Canada I was VERY impressed with how it went down and the turnout. I am quite certain that next year this show can only get better. The environment was extremely professional and I look forward to more events like this. If you are from the USA this show should not be missed next year. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello, looked at some of our future breeders or made a purchase. It was nice to see everyone and put faces to names I usually only see in emails. I also wanted to congratulate the winner of our IRCF.ORG raffle fundraiser. Over two days we raised $206, which will be donated to the IRCF. Not too shabby! Congrats to Jacob & Lynne Melnyk, who took home the living (geckos) and non-living (Foods, supplements and garments) prize pack valued at almost $400! For those who are not familiar with the International Reptile Conservation Foundation, I suggest you head over to their site to witness great things they are up to. Final note, as the breeding season comes to an end. Looks like we have just about finished with egg laying for the reason and it will be time to cool all the geckos down soon. It seems we have finally solved most of the website problems that have been dogging us for the summer and are now back on track. All correspondence should be back up and running. This event will take place on September 19th & 20th, 2009 at the International Centre in Toronto (near the airport for those flying in for the event). This will be the largest reptile event in Canada ever (35,000 square feet of herps for two days) and promises to be a regular annual event. I have been asked to speak about Rhacodactylus at the upcoming event, so if anyone wants to learn more or cover some old ground about Rhacodactylus husbandry, make sure you don't miss out on our presentation and Q&A session. Mark. March 20, 2009 - MORE GECKOS FOR SALE ANY DAY NOW! Hi everyone. It has been some time since I have updated the site with new geckos. Well, I have made some changes to the Crested Gecko section to reflect the diversity of geckos I will be offering in the next short while. Crested Geckos will now be divided into Male, Female and Unsexable groups so that it is easier to find what you are looking for. There will also be a Specials section and Group pricing for future offers. And my personal favorite "No Tail and On Sale." While tailless geckos can be just as nice as their tailed counterparts, some people just don't "share the love." Some special prices will be offered on these geckos here. As far as other geckos go, we are just about sold out of leachies until July with only a couple remaining and our Chahouas are all gone. Watch for NEW leachianus, Gargoyle and Chahoua breeders debuting this season. I am going to try and get pictures up of some of our new breeders shortly. We also are lucky to be the first in Canada to be breeding White Stripe Sarasinorum this season. Hopefully, we will have some offspring to offer this year. I will be adding over 30 sexable geckos to the site in the next few days so if you are looking for something special keep your eyes peeled! I also wanted to say thanks to everyone that stopped by to visit us and chat at the Toronto Reptile Expo in February. It was a pleasure to put faces to a lot of customers. Mark November 5, 2008 The Expo is just around the corner once more (Sun., November 16, 2008 http://www.reptileexpo.ca/mississauga/index.php). I have been very neglectful and I have not offered any new geckos on my site for some time. I apologize for this by putting a bunch of almost ready to breed females on the for sale page. These Crested Geckos are either ready to breed now or will be at the beginning of the season. I will also be updating the Gargoyles, Chahouas and Leachianus sections shortly to reflect current avaliability. Keep your eyes "licked" if you are hoping to snag something here as many of these geckos are one of a kind. I simply can't post everything I have for sale at any given time so if you have something special you are looking for just ask. I am sure we can find it for you.
